Mentor Program Interview With Werner Wichmann
In this video my wife (who organises all the Internet Marketing Upstart workshops) interviews one of the current members Werner Wichmann, and Werner shares his insight on the program and also some wise words of advice.
This is by no means one of those lame ass testimonial videos, Shea really grills him on the ins and outs of the program, and prospective members can really learn a lot from this interview.
If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments section below and Werner will most certainly be on hand to answer your questions.

Great video and I think it’s a nice touch to let real people in the program tell us what to expect and provide non-hyped feedback.
Now Werner my question to you is, you say there is an “exact plan”, but my question to anyone teaching internet marketing, if you have such an “exact plan” why are you teaching me and not doing it yourself?
So I guess my question Werner is this, Justin seems like the real deal, you guys obviously follow his plan, does it work, are you making money and how long does it take before you start making money… in other words I want to know this is not another empty promise as such.

@ Werner you touched on this not being an automated system, but yet every internet marketing guru you follow says the same thing, if you can’t automate it, its not a business, so how then can what you say or what Justin is saying rather be valid?

This workshop mentorship thing looks like exactly the thing we all need, any idea what Justin is looking for in the people he chooses (obviously being hard working is one thing), but what else?
And also is it expensive to be part of this. I was part of stomper net which cost me like 9K ZAR a month.

Justin made some big claim in his
email this morning about and I quote:
“I will lead you by the hand and show you the EXACT steps to take to grow and build a sustainable online business, and then beyond that”.
Plus he talks about Lifetime mentoring program,
it kinda feels all too familiar like the dozen
other programs I have been a part of and have
never succeeded with!
So my question to you Werner, how is what Justin
teaches different?

I am already an experienced marketer and have some successful online business already, will I be wasting my time on this, in other words is it just for newbie’s?

So meneer… is the blueprint still the same i.e. the upstart workshop PDF guide?. Many of the sites that I looked at from your first bunch of upstarts, looked very basic and it was difficult to see how these sites were going to be pulling decent pay cheques. Personally, I felt like flipping sites and outsourcing all the article content didn’t work for me, the whole thing just felt like it lacked heart and soul. But that’s just a personal thing, building a real online business that I’m proud to put my face on, is more appealing. Just an observation.
Cheers,
Phil.
P.S. Happy happy for your bday.

@ Philip Anderson from your comments, I see that you’ve missed a big part of the fact that this program is a long term thing that involves many building blocks, only now are many of the members getting to the final stages of completing their projects.
But rather than me answer your question, I am going to let current members answer it for you… trust that’s OK.

@Trever, firstly I am not the teacher Justin is. The plan he is teaching us, is the plan he follows himself in all of his numerous business.
@trever and elliot
The plan does work, I am making money. But the real point is here. It takes hard work first, with alot of ground work. There is a big learning curve here which most people don’t realize. It is not just about having a system. It is about learning to understand your markets, how to speak to them correctly and much more. And trust me I still have a huge amount to learn.
Elliot I do not really want to go into the other gurus part, but There is no such thing as an automated click button system that just magically does all the work for you. Real people need to do the work!
Anybody who sells you the easy life internet marketing dream of sitting on the beach and sipping cocktails all day is a liar!
Justin’s Mentoring program is like being in the Internet Marketing University. The amount I have grown and learnt though being part of this program in the last 8 months would not have been possible without the constant support from justin and the other people in the group.
@Mark the difference is: Justin really does what he says he is going to do!

On the subject of Werner (or anyone else in the group) making money, the answer to that question right now is NO. Yes they are starting to make sales, but the first 10 projects really are just about learning the system and once they have learnt the system, not only will they continue to make sales, but they will make money, which by my definition is a high ROI on money and time invested.
The bottom line is you don’t build a business overnight, it takes time, but what the program does, its it gives you all the steps and checks and balances along the way.

You are completely missing the point here. Nowhere in the blueprint does it say that it is a must to have your article content outsourced. In fact Luis is writing every single one of his articles for all his projects himself. It is completely up to you to decide if you would like to write the articles yourself or get a writer to do it. Justin actually encourages every one of us to at first try and do the article writing or a part there-of ourselves.
As I stated in my previous comment this program is not just about the system. In order to be able to effectively sell to a market you need to understand it. All of our first projects we have done in the upstart program so far has been learning/building blocks for all of us.
We have learnt lessons on how we made mistakes on incorrect market selection, keyword selection, communicating to our markets, incorrectly targeting the wrong product for the market etc.. All of these little mistakes can seem so small when you look at it from the outside but makes the difference between a person buying the product or just clicking away!
So the whole process definately has alot of heart and soul behind it!

Hi, I listened to each and every bit of information from the “upstart” when it was released Dec/Jan, and cursed myself for having missed this.
No business happens overnight, nothing in life comes easy and an excellent mentor is the only way to lift off!
Justin you have all that it takes to lead and teach, since I stumbled upon your sites I have not missed whatever you put out. Obviously being selective in who you are spending your resources on is imperative. My hand is up, if I am not successful good luck to the ten who are selected.
Werner, my Godfather always said “when you have all the knowledge, start digging – yup, that 6 foot drop” – no-one knows it all, every corner we turn – we learn and with time your hard work will pay dividends. Slow steady growth with a firm foundation.

@ Werner. Thank you for your input, the one thing that stands out is that there is a plan that you need to follow and I think that is what I need.

@Werner – For you guys personally, being part of the upstart group and working with Justin has plenty of heart and soul, that’s obvious, because you guys are engaged, and interacting and creating.
My observation was simply to do with what is being created. You see, you can get uber clinical about all this stuff, do the keyword research, look for a gap, inquire into the psychology of your market, crank out your keyword optimised articles (yourself or outsourced), configure your tracking and then hope to hell people starting clicking your affiliate links. Then rinse and repeat till you find a winner.
Or you can do, what’s going on here right before our very eyes. Justin’s site is not one of those sites I mention above. This one has personality, why because Justin puts his himself into it, products get sold on the back his credibility and relationship with his readers. This is the crux of my observation. One has authenticity and energy which people respond to and like, the other doesn’t. Once again, nothing wrong, they’re different business models. I prefer the second one, that’s all.
I also totally appreciate that everyone has to start somewhere and that it’s all a learning curve. You upstarts tend to get quite hot under the collar very quickly and draw your swords in defence of Justin at a moment’s notice, which is great, you’re passionate and fired up, but remember not every outside comment or observation is an attack.
Look, really at the end of the day, all this information is out there, but piecing it all together can be a very painful, expensive and time consuming exercise. There is no doubt a mentor can accelerate your progress tenfold because they’ve travelled the path. When you get lost, they can keep pointing you back towards true north.
Glad to have ’spiced up’ todays comments

Hi Phillip, I get what you are saying, but I think you have missed the point that you need to build to a point where you have a following (critical mass) and can therefore do as I do here…
With the upstart program, the stuff you have seen is only the very foundations, the key is to find markets that respond and then build to where as you point out you “get involved” add your flava (personality) to the business.
Right now the guys are getting into video marketing, learning how to intercact and grow a following, but Phil the problem is most people jump in head first and TRY and do that off the bat which is all wrong because you have no proof that there is life in the market.
Most people try to create a market, I teach you how to serve a market, and thats what most people dont get about the online space…
However the on thing eveyone of my members will tell you is that I HAMMER the importance of choosing markets you are personally intrested in because when you go full monty and build these markets you’ll have to put your stamp on them.
BUT like I was saying you need to build to that point… and thats why this is a LIFETIME program, because I lead you from the basics to growing a real online business.
Most people are stuck where you are, they have read and understand everything like wizards of marketing, but how many people are really making a living online….
VERY FEW, why because they have neglected to go and start from the basics.
Bottom line you don’t become a business empire with a following overnight, you need to build to it, and with the upstart program we teach those steps – all be it in a very long and unconventional way!
Does that make sense?

It is great to see the reaction of everyone and how eager everyone is willing to learn!
I would just like to give my thoughts on what has been said so far!
You need to realise that when you start to market online it is for life. This idea that you come in and make easy bucks in the beginning is total crap! It takes a lot of blood sweat and tears to keep you going and motivated!
Everyone is asking what will Justin provide in the course is it relevant? I am already marketing online will I gain from this? Well my answer to that is a simple one. We have a very successful online marketer in the IMU group and even he says this is the best information he has ever got!
Look like Phil has said all the information is out there and available for anyone to read and use! The question is why do people get stuck or lose track? Well quite simple actually there is no step by step plan of action. In the IMU there is one!!!
@Phil you say we attack anyone who questions Justin tactics or observations. Clearly Phil you are not in the IMU and it is like a family with us and you do not understand the concept of the IMU. You see it is very easy to sit from the outside and make comments like you have made. My next questions are simple ones,
How much money have you made online?
Is that system working for you?
How will you grow your business in the next 2 years?
What kind of income can you expect?
In the IMU Justin is teaching us all of this and more what you are seeing Phil is a small piece of the pie.
This is to everyone out there wanting to join the IMU, please remember this is a life changing experience, you will be challenging yourself everyday. You will have all the tools required to succeed all you need is YOU!
Last and final say, You are exactly where you are because you made a decision to be where you are!
