What is Latent Semantic Indexing
Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is a new technology by Google which allows Google to determine the relevancy of keywords to all other on page text.
Due to the overuse and abuse of keyword density, Google has developed Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) as a way of checking the relevance of keywords to the rest of the page and website content.
For example the keyword “CAR” would be considered relevant to the terms wheels, auto insurance, petrol, automatic, left hand drive etc.
Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) now makes it possible for Google to provide a real way of not only determining page keywords, but actually enabling the search engine to read what the page is about (in a manner of speaking).
The best way to think of Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is to think of a thesaurus, what terms are relevant to your keywords.
Whilst many people are scared off by Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI), I on the other hand think it is an exceptional breakthrough that will bring more integrity to the Internet as a whole
Good Luck and Happy Marketing.
