What is Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is a phrase coined by O’Reilly Media in 2003 refers to a perceived second generation of web based applications and services.

Web 2.0 refers to the transition of web sites from isolated information points (i.e. static web pages) to sources of content and functionality, thus becoming “computing platforms” serving web applications that engage end-users.
