The Internet never ceases to amaze me.
As time goes on and the Internet advances, I never ceased to be amazed at the exponential growth factor online.
A couple of years back when I first decided to go online full time and completely do away with my traditional brick and mortar business interests, I had an inclination of the possibilities, but absolutely no idea just how fast and big my ideas would grow online.
It is around abut now that I must confess I am mesmerized and completely addicted to the Internet. As a communication tool and a way of doing business, nothing can beat the instant delivery and global connectivity of the Internet.
If the past has taught me anything about doing business online, the one thing that stands out is that once you think you know, you don’t. The internet has a way of morphing its own course; it kind of has a life of its own, and the only way to stay ahead is to continue learning.
I guess if you can consider yourself a student of the universe and accept that you never leave the classroom, if the excitement of discovery and knowledge are motivating factors in your daily life, then you quite simply will never become bored with the Internet and doing business online.
There is a quirky kind of attraction to finding ways to capitalise the online world by building communities, grouping interest groups and delivering products and services to a global market place, if for nothing other than profit, the Internet is a tool beyond anything I have ever encountered.
With an understanding of the internet and online service delivery through comes a responsibility to serve and protect the interests of online consumers, it after all this group that makes it possible for doing business online.
The sad reality is that many online business owners (not all) lurk in the shadows behind the protection of their computers, and the only conscience keeping the bond of trust, is the online buyer’s credit card.
My constant “in your face – marketing” has often been mistaken as radical self promotion. The truth is that I have always believed in placing my face behind any product I sell, both online and offline.
Whilst I see the obscured idea that it might be considered self promotion, my intentions have always been to give a face to doing business… people deal with people, system simply facilitate the process, and my success I believe can be attributed to this very fact.
When all is said and done though, the only thing constant about doing business online is change.
