The Internet Marketing Upstart Program
Most of you don’t know that I run a private Internet Marketing Mentoring Program called The Internet Marketing Upstart Program, which I started 8 months ago here in South Africa.
The program is a closed door mentoring program in which I teach the exact steps I have taken to build my business (outside of the IM to IM market), and although it’s the longer way around, many of the members are starting to see the benefits of building a long term sustainable business, versus all this opportunistic crap that so many of my peers are teaching.

Anyway before I get sidetracked and go on a rant about all the bullshit that gets promoted in the IM space, I have, let’s just say become “quite attached” to the Internet Marketing Upstart group, and my wife (who arranges all our events) and I have come to consider them very much part of our extended family.
And just like any family, there is the red headed step child who you love to hate, the star of the group, and bunch of noisy little buggers in between, not to mention the up and comer who is fighting his older brother for first place all the time… it’s a real little family unit with a bunch of dynamics.
Over the last 8 months I have worked tirelessly to break many of the bad habits that they all have learned along the way. And although many of my teaching methods are sometimes a little unconventional, I can see that they are all starting to really get it.
I am not one to brag or boast about my own success, but I have built up a very large business on very simple principals, many of which require an extraordinary amount of self discipline, sacrifice and dedication, and I think everyone of the Internet Marketing Upstart members will attest to this.
Last week Friday we held a workshop in Durban, which was held to pass on many of the important updates for the program, many of which are outlined in the SEO IS DEAD report, and basically to review everyone’s progress.

And because I am a BIG believer in playing as hard as you work, I put together a few events to not only entertain members, but also impart some life lessons, core to which is my belief that you can “sleep when you are dead”, because lets face it this life is short and you have to squeeze the most of each day.
We broke bread and shared a few dinners filled with laughter and engaging chit chat, we hit the Durban casinos and some of us learnt the art of Black Jack and card counting (SHHH – sorry Suncoast Internet Marketers love numbers), we dangled 40 meters above the ground and slid our way around Africa’s longest set of fufi slides, then we ended it all off on the final evening with a moonlight dinner and spa experience that was to die for.
One thing people will tell you about coming to see me in Durban is that you’ll work hard, play hard, and get very little sleep doing it all, but you’ll certainly walk away with a bounce in your step ready and armed to succeed… and you know why… because success is contiguous!
Anyway here are some pictures from out get together:

P.S. I might be taking on a few new members in the next 2/3 months, so if this is something that interests you add your comments below and let me know.

I would like to join!
Looks like you guys had fun, I am very jealous!
If you ever open this program up in the UK I would be one of the first people to jump on the program.
Would it not be possible for people outside of South Africa to participate, I am sure you would get lots of clients Justin.
Awesome, looks like everyone had a great time, and yes I would want to be part of the program also.
I am not from South Africa, but I would be willing to travel over there to learn form you Justin. I’ve been following your launch of the seo is dead website closely and I am very impressed.
So would you accept members from outside of South Africa?
I would love to be a part of this, keep me posted.
P.S. Also not from South Africa
Sounds very interesting. Im keen to find out more.
Hey Justin — this looks intresting. IF you do open it up again please let me know.
Cheers
Michael
Just finished going through the seo is dead report and all I can say is WOW, you definitely have a new fan my friend. You can also count me in for some private mentoring.
Count me in, where do I register LOL
Well if you current members can provide some feedback on what you are teaching I would be very interested.
I imagine there will be a heavy fee attached to this, any indication of what that fee might be?
Hi Justin, I would be very interested, you seem to be very genuine and real and I like that, so yes please let me know if you make some places available.
Thank you
Graeme Fry
I am one of the fortunate ones to have attended this seminar, which was mind blowing ! As a new member, and I might add the only female (Justin will understand, the PINK example he kept referring to!!!!)I came back totally motivated and exhausted!!!
Justin is an exceptional mentor, and I feel privilidged to be part of this group.
Thank you.
@ Laura Palmieri – So Laura how long have you been part of the group and also, is the stuff Justin teaches very different from other information that is already out there?
sorry for all the questions, just very interested to know.
Thanks for the feedback Laura, I am also interested to find out how did you become a member because it seems this program has never been open before, was it by invite only?
Also are you very new the the internet marketing thing, and are you able to learn quickly with the material provided in the program?
It was a blast – apart from learning lots of new technics – i haven’t had this much fun in ages – i do look a bit older from the lack of sleep and extreme sports activities – but what a trip. Can’t wait for the next one.
Justin set the date already – dude
IT SEEMS TO ME YOU GUYS HAD A GOOD TIME. I WOULD LIKE TO COME ON BOARD, IF EVER YOU START IN THE WESTERN CAPE, AS I AM IN THE MILNERTON AREA. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK OKAY. GOD BLESS
@ Graeme Fry – Hi Graeme, I joined the group in April, and had absolutely no previous experience in this field at all. So I cannot compare it to anything else that is available in the market place. But I have now seen for myself, Justin is the real thing. Trust me it is not something I would just say about anyone. Still learning and I have a long way to go, but I am determined to succeed, and to stay part of this group!
Holy cow, it sounds like you guys had fun, so is there like a prerequisite or set of prerequisites to join?
I would love to be a part of this, it always seems like this stuff only happens in America. I had no idea we had our very own internet marketing guru right here in SA
Count me in!
Just for the record – what you learn in the upstart group you will never learn anywhere is. look forward to seeing the new members Justin chooses – trust me – it will change the way you see the internet.
It is such an honour to be part of this group. Thank you to Justin and the fellow Upstart members for all the support! Its been a fantastic yourney so far and I have learnt alot from every one of you! Looking forward to all our future adventures!
I can tell the guys who are interested to be part of the mentoring program that this is definately not an easy route, there is no such thing. If you want to succeed it is about hard work and dedication.
If you are prepared to put in the work, then this is the program for you! Justin cuts out all of the BS around taught by all the so called ‘gurus’ and really shows you how to succeed.
Hi Justin,
i also tried to join a while back, but is was closed.
Let me know when its open again
@ James MacBride – I have been forutnate enough to be given this opportunity through my brother in law, Dale. Started working with him in April, and through him was allowed to join this group. I had absolutely no previous experience in the past. What I realize is that it takes alot of personal motivation, and the materials provided are precise and to the point. I have still a long way to go, as it takes time and patience!
I have tried everything and read just about every book and even though I think I know what I am doing, I just don’t see the results. I have also been part of two well know mentor programs, however nothing has worked.
I love the idea of making a living online however you will excuse my cynical outlook because frankly I have applied myself and I just don’t see what you can offer that will change that, but you seem genuine and I am willing to give it a go.
Sounds awesome, I would like to join.
@ Laura Palmieri – thanks Laura its very encouraging to hear from someone inside the group, and that fact that you have no previous experience really gives me hope. Thanks for the feedback its very valuable to all of us looking for help.
Justin your SEO report was on the money as always, I don’t know how you do it but you are always a few steps ahead of the pack.
Did you catch Perry’s post about how the chaps are getting slapped by Google at the moment?
Anyway if you open a mentor program, count me in buddy!
Looks like you guys had a blast. The learning experience alone must be awesome.
Michelle Jayes
@ Laura Palmieri I take it that is @ Dale from http://www.onlineshopping.co.za who commented above?
So my question is then at @ Dale from http://www.onlineshopping.co.za – how did you become a member and you say that “it will change the way you see the internet”… is the material provided in the program really that different to what is already out there?
@ Werner I too have tried the easy route and all I did was fail and fail and fail, but not because I was not working, just that I was not focused. Does the program have like a step for step plan to help people stay on track?
James – the key to making money online is firstly to have a plan and then take action on the plan . In the group justin has set up a plan – but requires serious hardwork – this is not a get rich quick scheme – its dam hard work and you really need to be motivated and not sleep ( lol ) if you want to succeed.
Hope that helps
@ Dale from http://www.onlineshopping.co.za thanks for the feedback, I kinda thought the whole appeal of running an internet business was that it was less work than a normal business.
Anyway I guess I’ll have to wait and see for myself just how much of Justin’s plan I can automate
Guys it is truly a honour to be in this Mentoring group of people who really want to make it online. As for Justin he has a high expectation of the group and if you come in there and expect to make it just like that. You are in for a rude awakening!
Yes there a method but I nor no one in the group is allowed to explain or talk about it. It is after all Justin’s trade secrets. So I suggest that you keep an eye on Justin site, make sure you communicate on the site be active. Show your willingness to learn and interact and when Justin opens up the IMU workshop you could be in a lot easier. That is all I can say.
Also I have my friends in the workshop that will be friends for life. It is not always about business we sometimes forget that there are people behind the screens.
To all the guys and girl who made it to Durban thanks for the good times and the work ethic!!
Without change nothing is possable , and I am ready for change.
What I wont do is kiss your ass for this position, so if you want some no bullshit eager to learn rookie then I’m your man.
Just think of me as a blank slate on which only the original can be carved.
Hi Justin
Thanks for sharing these great pictures that show a great time was had by all and I am sure everyone picked up many internet marketing ‘golden nuggets’ from you.
Cheers
Cynthia Minnaar
@ James MacBride – if you are in business for yourself why would you want to work less . The harder you work the more you make ? If you are looking for the easy life then the internet is not for you. Its a very hard business to succeed in , but when you do succeed its huge.
Amen Dale !!
Thanks for posting about this, I would like to read more about this, please tell me more
OK stop teasing me. When can I sign up. I’m ready to learn, work and be part of your fantastic “family”.
Where do I sign up!
Regards
Trevor Farley
Hi Trevor the emails are just starting to go out with the links, we have had some technical challenges delivering the email today, so just hang around you should get the link shortly.
Not quite sure which technical challenges you are referring to, but I have had some technical challenges this side too. ADSL has been down (entire exchange down!) for the whole area (200km radius according to SAIX) for the last 24 hours (came back on at 3pm today). Glad that hell is all over now, tks Telkom!
@Justin: I’m excited to see what a dedicated and focused team can pull off. My app is in, and I strongly recommend that everyone else out there who is prepared to work hard, put your app in too.
Pls do not forget me.. Does a girl stand a chance with all these guys
