I sometimes chuckle when I see examples of how entrenched Google has become in our everyday life, but sometimes I am just flat out amazed at the phenomenon that Google has become.

Driving along the highway the other day I noticed a billboard advertising the new Nokia N95 (I think), and what struck me head on is that the picture on the phone indicating internet browsing capabilities was none other than… Google!

Now some people might not see the significance of that, but I find it amazing how the words Google and Internet have become synonymous with each other.

When I made the statement no business can afford to ignore Google, I think this should have been the image I used to hammer home the point.

What's even more startling to me is here is Google gaining possibly Millions of Rands worth of free exposure in South Africa, never mind the rest of the world, all because Nokia and the rest of the world find that Google is the image that best represents the term or explanation internet browsing capabilities.

Talk about dominating your market!
