MyGate Express
True to his word Glen Ross the national sales manager for MyGate has come forward with a more cost effective solution for smaller online vendors.
Below is a copy of the email he recently sent to me with regards to MyGate's latest service offering which include some rather attractive benefits and features, and whist this is not the perfect solution, it is a step in the right direction… Kudos Glen and team!
Good afternoon Justin,
I trust that you are well and that business has been keeping you very busy,
Justin, I am pleased to announce that MyGate have released a new rates package, known as the MyGate Express.
Some of the features of the new rates package when compared to the other packages, which are used in conjuction with an FNB merchant account, are as follows:
? No contract period
? A minimum billing of R150 per month, rather than the R450 (R150 to MyGate and R300 to FNB) which you can expect to pay on the MyGate Standard, 300 and 600 packages
? A commission based pricing structure rather then the rate per transaction
You will also be pleased to know that coupled with the release of the MyGate Express rates package, MyGate have also released a multi layer Fraud Module consisting of the following blades:
1. Blacklisting Service
Blacklisting allows merchants to block certain transactions based one of the following criteria of the purchaser:
IP Address
Country Code
Credit Card Number2. Global IP Recognition Service
GIR compares the purchaser’s delivery/shipping address to the global geographic location assigned to their IP address. If the shipping address differs from the country as identified by the purchaser’s IP address, the transaction may be fraudulent, and can be flagged failed
3. Repeated Success Identification Service
RSI allows the merchant to set the amount of successful transactions a purchaser can make before they're flagged as potential fraud or blocked (depending on how you decide to configure) from making further transactions. If a purchaser makes very high volume of successful transactions within a short space of time, it may also mean that they are not the cardholder and are trying to use the card as much as possible. A purchaser is defined from IP address or credit card number.
4. Unique Client Identifier Service
UCI forms a one-to-one relationship between a client and a credit card number. The merchant has the ability to provide MyGate with a unique-client-identifier (such as a customer ID) when processing a transaction. MyGate then stores the card number used by that client, and will flag or fail (depending on how you decide to configure) later transactions used by this client with a different card number. This insures that the credit card being used by the client is the card previously used for transacting.
5. Repeated Failure Identification Service
RFI allows the merchant to set the amount of failed attempts a purchaser can make before they're flagged as potential fraud or blocked (depending on how you decide to configure) from making further attempts. If a purchaser makes too many purchase attempts without success, it may mean that they are not the cardholder and the transactions could be fraudulent. Such patterns (involving guessing card numbers, expiry dates, etc) are normally linked with stolen credit cards and are a common online fraud scheme. A purchaser is defined from IP address or credit card number.
Another feature that has been included in the release is the MyGate NotifyMe service which is an optional subscription-based service offered by MyGate, whereby merchants can receive notification (via SMS and/or email) on transactions processed by MyGate on their behalf and/or of transactions that have been flagged / failed by MyGate as part of the Fraud Module. Notifications can either be sent on a per-transaction basis, or as a summary of activity on your ecommerce site per day or per week.
Finally, we have also developed an exciting new payment landing page on the MyVirtual solution, which is fully configurable by the merchant (through the admin interface), and allows the merchant to send through the line items from the shopping cart as well as the delivery address details, for display on the payment page. In addition, the merchant has the option to allow the purchaser the ability to receive a credit-card payment receipt from MyGate via email (free of charge to the merchant) on successful purchase.
Justin, if you have any queries regarding my email, please don't hesitate to contact me
Kind Regards
Glen Ross
